White Wall Cinema's Socially Distanced Summer Screen presents
THURSDAY AUGUST 13TH
ALL IS LOST(2013)
DIRECTOR: J.C. Chandor
STARRING: Robert Redford
A recent entry in the filmography of legendary actor / director Robert Redford, All Is Lost is an astonishingly powerful achievement that brings the full weight of Redford's award winning 60 year career to bear in this remarkable feat of screen acting. Gripping throughout, this story of one man and his boat battling the elements out at sea has been labelled "A Triumph of Pure Cinema" (Empire), "Utterly Compelling" (The Independent), "Thrilling" (Total Film), "Exceptional" (BBC), and The Guardian referred to Redford's bravura effort as a "Tour De Force performance". A passion project by Redford and J.C. Chandor (acclaimed director of Margin Call and A Most Violent Year) All Is Lost bursts at the seams with Redford's understated charisma and showcases the veteran actors incredible talents in this physically and intellectually demanding role. Teamed with the brilliantly assured direction of Chandor the film is "Dazzling" (The Washington Post) and "Off the scale brilliant" (The Huffington Post), making for a landmark moment in Redford's undoubtedly already great career.
