One of the all time great word of mouth successes in film history, Donnie Darko was initially entirely overlooked upon its original theatrical release back in 2001. But as the years crept by, the reputation of Richard Kelly's enigmatic debut feature grew exponentially among movie lovers as a home video hit which eventually led to it's status as a fully fledged cult classic. The story of a troubled suburban teen (played by Jake Gyllenhaal in a career defining performance) who begins to hear the voice and see visions of a six foot tall bunny rabbit who prophesises Doomsday. Easily one of the best debut films ever made by a director, with it's stellar cast, iconic soundtrack, outsider teen motif, science fiction puzzle element and restrained 80s stylisation we have chosen it for the first ever White Wall University screening (much more fun than actual university) that includes a post film analysis in the shape of a fun short after film presentation about the movie Come see this cult classic back on the big screen nearly 20 years after it's original release and get deeper behind Darko with this special post film presentation.
