White Wall Cinema's Socially Distanced Summer Screen presents

WEDNESDAY JULY 14TH

DOWNSIZING
(2017)

DIRECTOR: Alexander Payne

STARRING: Matt Damon, Christoph Waltz, Hong Chau, and Kristen Wiig.

Matt Damon stars alongside Christoph Waltz, Hong Chau, and Kristen Wiig in this unusual and thoughtful comedy from Sideways, About Schmidt, and The Descendants director Alexander Payne. Paul and Audrey Safranek seem to have solved their life problems (and the enviromental problem of overpopulation) by undergoing the new medical procedure of 'Downsizing' to become only 5 inches tall and entering miniature paradise 'Leisureland' where seemingly all life's luxuries are available to them. Damon is predictably brilliant as Paul who finds himself confronted with major life choices and new realities in this quirky tale that deconstructs the suburban middle class dream. Far from being a Honey, I Shrunk The Kids clone Downsizing looks both humorously and concernedly at societal flaws both large and (very) small.
