From the director of Black Panther and Creed comes this touching and tragic true story of the last day of 2008 and the last day of Oscar Grant's life. Michael B. Jordan stars as the 24 year old Bay Area resident who was fatally shot by a uniformed officer at Fruitvale District Station in Oakland, California on New Year's Eve. The film is a tender portrayal of the last 24 hours of Oscar's life as encounters friends and strangers alike, as he attempts to put his New Year's resolution of being a better sun, husband and father into action early. Culminating in the tragic incident on the platform this critically acclaimed debut by Ryan Coogler shows the assured and sensitive directorial hand that would continue to garner him plaudits as throughout his meteoric career rise that has seen him become one of Hollywood's most respected black directors.
