White Wall Cinema's Socially Distanced Spring Screen presents
TUESDAY MAY 25TH
DIRECTOR: Clint Eastwood
STARRING: Paul Walter Hauser, Sam Rockwell, Kathy Bates, Olivia Wilde & Jon Hamm.
Originally to star Leonardo DiCaprio and Jonah Hill (who stayed on as producers) this true life story based on a 1997 Vanity Fair article eventually became the magnificent breakout role for newcomer Paul Walter Houser. Having featured in the likes of I, Tonya, BlacKkKlansman, and Da 5 Bloods, here Hauser gives a captivating performance alongside co-stars Sam Rockwell and Kathy Bates (both on top form) as the security guard who was wrongly accused of the 1996 Atlanta Olympics bombing. Hauser brilliantly portrays the line between loner jobsworth / hero / wrongly accused, as he is hounded by the media and the authorities in the framework of the morally ambiguous real world setting created by master craftsman director Clint Eastwood. Eastwood's mature approach expertly constructs a never less than compelling real life thriller that is both highly entertaining whilst still being capable of sparking a million post film discussions.
