White Wall Cinema's Socially Distanced Autumn Screen presents
THURSDAY OCTOBER 1ST
THE GAME (1997)
DIRECTOR: David Fincher
STARRING: Michael Douglas and Sean Penn.
Director of Seven, Fight Club, The Social Network and Gone Girl, David Fincher brings us one of the great overlooked thrillers in cinema history with this superlative labyrinth like tale starring Michael Douglas as wealthy investment banker Nicholas Van Orton. When Van Orton's brother (Sean Penn) brings him an unusual birthday gift in the form a voucher for a high end corporate 'game' operated by the mysterious Consumer Recreation Services (CRS), the all encompassing game life experience soon has Van Orton unsure what is part of the puzzle, and what isn't, in this tense but brilliantly psychological fun thrill ride that celebrates it's return to the big screen in the form of this brand new David Fincher approved remaster. Engaging and entertaining throughout Fincher manages to peak the audiences's curiosity consistently through the various twists and turns of the plot, as Michael Douglas puts in one of the best performances of his storied career. This film is part of the Thriller Thursday season.. You can buy a discount season ticket for all Thriller Thursday films by going HERE.
