White Wall Cinema's Socially Distanced Spring Screen presents

TUESDAY JUNE 1ST

TWO DAYS ONE NIGHT (2014)

DIRECTOR: Jean-Pierre Dardenne & Luc Dardenne

STARRING: Marion Cotillard & Fabrizio Rongione

Marion Cotillard gives a blistering performance in this undoubted masterpiece by two time Palme d'Or winners Jean-Pierre & Luc Dardenne. An astonishing feat of humanist storytelling, Oscar winner (for her portrayal of Edith Paif in La Vie En Rose) Cotillard (again nominated here) gives a career best performance as a woman who must her convince her colleagues to save her job instead of each accepting a bonus. A timely and powerful story of one woman's quiet determination both the story and Cotillard's masterfully nuanced performance make for a richly layered piece of social realism that is at turns deeply troubling and exceptionally inspiring. Highly recommended.
