We all need entertainment, and human interaction, especially at times like these. Once the pandemic hit we at White Wall Cinema had to come up with something new to compliment our big screen in-person movie gatherings, thus Home Service was born. A great success, it helped us through the pandemic and earned rave reviews from all those that took part. However after 16 months of financial pain due to our dramatically reduced capacity or complete closure during lockdown periods we have still been left with a big shortfall in our income, and need your help to secure the future of the only year round independent provider of cinema screenings in Brighton, so we are continuing our Home Service post restrictions... we are also doing this because it's a great idea and you all seem to love it....

Scrolling through streaming services trying to find something to watch is miserable. So our new Home Service aims to deliver a little White Wall Cinema magic right into your living room. Give us a donation to help us survive these trying times, and in return we will craft a fully personalised, bespoke evening of movie entertainment just for you and your family / flatmates.

After chatting with you about your favourite movies, we will hand pick a very special mystery movie from our archive that exactly suits your taste (we are famous for our accuracy on this). We will send it to you (for you to keep) with some gourmet popcorn and create a personalised online video to give the movie a special introduction. Not forgetting the best bit... a personal online get together (via video chat) to have one of those great fun post film discussions we all love so much, so we can hear your thoughts, fill you in on the movies history, and bring you fascinating info and insights into the film's production and meaning.
Take the misery out of these rough times, and put some movie mystery fun in it's place and ensure an alternative to big commercial movie houses still exists after Covid-19.
STEP 1: Decide On A Donation.
Decide on a donation amount to White Wall Cinema, just pick the level you can afford and what level of package you want - what you get for each level is listed below.
PLEASE NOTE: Each donation is valid as an individual experience or for everyone who lives in your household. If for some reason you don't want to take part in Home Service, but still want help us out, feel free to get in touch to donate.
STEP 2: Get In Touch.
Simply drop us an e-mail at info@whitewallcinema.co.uk to organise making a donation.
STEP 3: Personal Movie Chat.
Via an easily accessible and free video chat website (or via e-mail if you prefer), we will have a fun informal chat with you (and your partner / others in your house if they are joining in) about your favourite movies. No need to try and seem cool or clever though, we want your honest favourites! Based on a series of fun and easy questions about what you like in a movie, and perhaps what you don't, we will determine the perfect little gem of a film (that hopefully you haven't seen) that will become an instant favourite for you. In the grand tradition of White Wall Cinema's Secret Movie Club however, the choice of movie will remain a secret until it's time to watch.
STEP 4: Home Delivery.
We will deliver straight to your home (anywhere in the UK, relevant Covid-19 precautions taken) a parcel containing the mystery DVD or Blu Ray hand picked from our archive that is for you to keep and add to your collection, alongside a special packet of gourmet pop corn!
PLEASE NOTE: DVDs and Blu Rays are from our extensive archive so may be either brand new or pre-owned but will always be in good condition and ready to view. *If you don't have a Blu Ray or DVD player we can work with content from your streaming services.*
STEP 5: Custom Introduction
We'll send you a personalised link (and password) that lets you access a custom made intro video for the movie that will be centred on a personalised intro presented by us. This non spoiler introduction to the film, will provide some fun context about the movie, things to look out for while watching, and generally get you primed for your evening's entertainment.
STEP 6: Enjoy The Movie
Grab the packet of gourmet popcorn we sent you, kick back on your sofa and enjoy the mystery classic, cult, unusual, interesting or overlooked movie we sent to you.
STEP 7: Post Film Chat
And finally, the best bit... straight after the film we will schedule in a live video chat just for you (and your those in your household that watched), so we can discuss the movie, chat over all those little bits we couldn't before you had seen it, and find out what you thought about it. We will fill you in with titbits from the film's production, discuss the legacy of the film, and generally have a good old natter with you about the film's meaning, and it's place in cinema history.
