POP UP CINEMA BRIGHTON
White Wall Cinema & The Brighton Film Party Society presents
SATURDAY NOVEMBER 11TH
THE BIG
LEBOWKSI
+ PARTY
DIRECTOR: The Coen Brothers
STARRING: Jeff Bridges, John Goodman, Julianne Moore, Steve Buscemi, David Huddleston, John Turturro, Philip Seymour Hoffman.
THE EVENT: White Wall Cinema once again teams with The Brighton Film Party Society to invite you into the world of the dude for the 25th anniversary of The Big Lebowski. Alongside a screening of the Coen Brothers classic, our venue will be set dressed with Lebowski paraphernalia with a rug that really ties the room together, including a special set for photo ops. Not only that, but there will be a DJ set of tunes stolen straight from the Dude's 8-Track player in his 1973 Ford Gran Torino (lots of Creedence but strictly no Eagles). Lebowski style fancy dress is highly encouraged as there will be a prize for the best costume, aside from Dudes in dressing gowns, Walters, Jesus's, Maudes and more are welcomed, as well as obscure outfits, or even dressing as inanimate objects (severed toe anyone?). But rest assured, your normal clothes are welcome too. All this will be powered by a bar serving White Russians with an opportunity for a bit of 'bowling' on the side.

THE FILM: Now considered one of THE bona-fide cult classics in cinema history, The Big Lebowski has grown in stature every year and now 25 years after it's release is more beloved than ever. Combining The Coen Brothers (also known for Fargo, O' Brother Where Art Thou?, No Country For Old Men and more) sense of offbeat humour and anarchic plotting, it follows amateur bowler and professional slacker Jeffrey 'The Dude' Lebowski, who after being mistaken for a millionaire of the same name by two thugs (who pee on his rug), seeks recompense from his namesake. The Dude played by Jeff Bridges in this, his signature role, is then drawn into a hilariously complex kidnapping plot aided by an amazing cast of supporting characters that include best friends Walter (John Goodman), and Donnie (Steve Buscemi), artist Maude (Juliane Moore) and the unforgettable Jesus (John Turturro). Join us for the perfect way to celebrate the 25th anniversary of this undisputed cult classic.
